Kahoot is a useful web-based tool for engaging students in a simple quiz competition. Students must connect with a Smartphone or other Wifi-enabled device in order to participate. A series of questions with multiple-choice answers are provided by the teacher, like a quiz. The quiz is assigned a code, and the teacher distributes that code to all of the students so they login and participate. Each student has his/her own account first in order to track who they are. They can use this same account for multiple Kahoots in any situation. When each question comes up, students press a button corresponding to which of the 4 multiple-choice answers they think is the correct one. Points are awarded for the correct answer, but also for the speed in which the correct answers are given. At the end, a winner is declared. This is often used as a review tool at the end of a class for students to review their learning.

Kahoot in Holistic Education
Using Kahoot in holistic education. Holistic education focuses on skills, cognition, and emotion. Kahoot most clearly focuses on Cognition and Skills, as they are the most relevant qualities. Students learn cognitive skills by processing the questions and answers quickly. To a lesser extent, very young students can be practising their motor control skills and spatial recognition of shapes and colours as they press the buttons. Through emotion. Another tactic can be for teachers to add an additional element to the Kahoot. For example, before students are allowed to press their answer, they must perform some physical activity first, like 3 pushups. Or they must solve another question separately before they are allowed to input their answer.
